News and Notes: Wednesday Edition

Below, some news and notes for Wednesday...
  • We hear that Cornell is still waiting on a pair of contracts to be signed before the Big Red can reveal the 2011-2012 schedule. While we are still unable to release the schedule details, it is common knowledge that Cornell owes nine (9) "return" games as part of the team's home-and-away series arrangements from a year ago. Five (5) additional games will round out the nonconference slate. Below are the expected series return games.
at St. Bonaventure
at Delaware
at Stony Brook
at Bucknell
at Buffalo
vs Boston U.
vs Lehigh
vs Albany
vs Binghamton
  • If you have not had the opportunity to check it out, take a look at the exclusive inside tour of Bartels Hall and Newman Arena, the home of Cornell Basketball. The tour video was produced by the staff of Slope Media and shows Cornell's locker rooms, home court, study and training rooms. Newman Arena is the newest of the Ivy League's gyms and has led the Ivy League in attendance in three of the last four seasons and is home to Cornell's fan base, Newman Nation.
  • It is the offseason and the top priority for the Cornell program remains recruiting. So, while the 2011-2012 season is still months away, the Cornell staff is gearing up for what is expected to be one of Cornell's most talent stacked Elite Prospect Camps in years. The Cornell Basketball Elite Prospect Camp will run from June 25-26 s and many of Cornell's top recruiting targets annually are invited to attend.
